Cefixime Trihydrate Dispersible Tablets

Cefixime Trihydrate, like ceftriaxone and cefotaxime, is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic. In the presence of beta-lactamase enzymes, cefixime is extremely stable. As a result, many organisms resistant to penicillins and some cephalosporins may be sensitive to cefixime due to the presence of beta-lactamases. Cefixime’s antibacterial activity is due to its suppression of bacterial cell wall mucopeptide production.
