LEEBAR- XL is a medicine that combines two medications: levosulpiride (a prokinetic agent) and rabeprazole (proton pump inhibitor). Levosulpiride prevents backflow of food and acid into the mouth by increasing the pressure of the inferior oesophageal (food pipe) sphincter. Rabeprazole works by inhibiting the creation of acid in the stomach by stopping the action of an enzyme called the gastric proton pump. LEVOSULPIRIDE+RABEPRAZOLE work together to prevent acid reflux and provide relief from acidity and heartburn.
Rabeprazole & Levosulpiride Capsules come with the branding ”LEEBAR-XL” and are helpful in gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD), acidity, heartburn, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, infection by Helicobacter pylori, irritable bowel syndrome, indigestion, and peptic and gastric ulcers. The mucous coating protects the stomach from acid in most cases. The mucous coating in certain cases becomes eroded because of excess acid production, resulting in acidity.
Rabeprazole & Levosulpiride Capsules contain two medicines: Rabeprazole (proton pump inhibitor) and Levosulpiride (prokinetic agent). Rabeprazole functions by inhibiting an enzyme, the gastric proton pump, which secretes acid. Levosulpiride functions by tightening the inferior oesophageal (food pipe) sphincter and preventing backflow of acid and food into the mouth. Together, Levosulpiride+rabeprazole prevents acid reflux and relieves acidity and heartburn.
Uses of Rabeprazole & Levosulpiride Capsules
- Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD): It decreases acid reflux and heartburn by improving the emptying of the stomach and reducing acid production.
- Peptic & Duodenal Ulcers: It helps in ulcer healing by coating the stomach lining.
- Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS): It works best in bloating and delayed gastric emptying cases.
- Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome: It manages excessive acid production due to gastrin-secreting tumours.
- Functional Dyspepsia: The medication provides relief in cases of early satiety, nausea, and abdominal pain.
